Alex Funkhouser helped create SherlockTech Staffing, opening up international recruitment call centers across the world to help companies around the globe. His companies have consulted with many top international companies, including local heavy weights Carnival Corp., Office Depot and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. From university to present, Funkhouser has consistently won awards for his entrepreneurial leanings, including "Entrepreneur of the Year, State of Missouri". He was awarded the “Beauty and the Beast award by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for contributions to the community and the foundation. He serves as Chairman of Business Advisory Board of the Academy of Information Technology in Miami-Dade County school system Academy of Information Technology, part of the National Academy Foundation. Mr. Funkhouser earned an International MBA from Nyenrode University, The Netherlands School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Washington University. |

A graduate of Lancaster University England, with a Bachelor of Arts in Physics together with a Masters Degree in Semiconductor Technology, Mr. Purkiss invested almost 20 years with IBM rising through the sales ranks to become Branch Manager and later General Business Unit Manager of IBM UK. Subsequent positions included Director of Logica UK, Executive Vice President of Level 8 Systems, and SPSS. Joined MCI with responsibility for the set up and operation of National Strategic Channels. Appointed Chairman of SherlockTech Staffing in 2005, Director of CarrierHouse in 2008 and a Principal of The Silverlight Group in 2010. |

After a successful career in the arts, I got my start in the IT Staffing industry some 16 years ago when I opened the South Florida branch of a prominent New York City staffing agency. I joined forces with Alex Funkhouser, right after 9/11 when hiring was at a stand-still. It was here that I became involved with the organizations and networking activities that established SherlockTech Staffing as a leader in the industry. A native of New York, I received my BS in Sociology from Stony Brook University. I serve on the WITI South Florida Leadership Council, MDGLCC, and actively participate in many local user group including the Miami User Group, PMI and SFTA. In 2010 I joined the SherlockTech Staffing team as an IT Talent Agent. By working closely with my candidates and utilizing my knowledge in Information Technologies, I am able to help people reach and exceed their IT career goals. I started my IT career at the Volgograd State University working in the Department of Economics and Innovation as a Jr. Business Analyst while also studying Information Technology and Mathematics. In order to expand my experience in Human Resources and Recruiting, I joined SherlockTech Staffing. In my previous experience, I served in a variety of administrative positions within different industries, such as media design, corporate event planning, and academic research. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and my Master of Science in Organizational Learning and Leadership. In my graduate studies, I acquired knowledge and skills relevant to human resources, training and organizational development, adult learning and motivation, career development and organizational communication. Moving to SherlockTech Staffing is the latest step in a long and successful IT and eCommerce career. Early in my career I worked as a Quality Assurance Analyst, with a Global Software development company. Later I helped launched Marsmusic.com and there was no looking back. I quickly became immersed in website design, functionality, user experience, content management systems, email marketing systems, SEO, PPC, Social Media and all technology related to interactive marketing. I received my BSBA from American University, and my MBA from George Washington University. I have completed multiple post graduate courses on Sales/Leadership/Project Management/Business Analysis. I serve on the Board of Directors of the South Florida Marketing Association.
